Abstract/Description
As part of BioInnovate Africa’s efforts to strengthen science communication across its network of supported innovation research projects, a communications training was held on 31 March – 2 April 2025 under the theme “Iron Sharpens Iron.” This capacity-building activity brought together communication officers and project team members to share insights and sharpen practical communication skills for increased visibility and impact of bioscience innovations. This info note presents the outcomes of the training, including key actions identified to enhance communication strategies and promote collaborative communication-related documentation of the BioInnovate Africa supported projects. It also provides recommendations to support the scaling of science and innovation communication in eastern Africa through peer learning, audience-tailored messaging, and effective digital and mainstream media engagement.
