Dr Sarah Mubiru

Dr Mubiru is the team leader of BioInnovate Africa supported project that is producing High-quality Aroma Honey Toffees.  She is an entrepreneur and is the Founder and Managing Director of Aroma Honey Toffee Limited, a company in Uganda that produces sweets (candies) made from honey with zero processed sugar.

Her professional background and experience begun in livestock production and later expanded to the fields of value chains, agribusiness, crop-livestock interactions, gender mainstreaming in development interventions and youth skills development.

She has led research projects while working at the National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO) in Uganda. Prominent among these was a project through which a computer based dairy feeding Decision Support Tool (ENDIISA) was developed. This innovation, in 2010, won the first prize at the African Women in Science Competition. Dr Mubiru is also a mentor at the African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD) Programme. She has a Ph.D in Natural Resource Management in mixed crop-livestock farming systems, and a Master of Science in Tropical Pastures.
