Dr Christine Oryema, Uganda

Christine is a senior lecturer in the department of biology, faculty of science at Gulu University. She has served in various academic and administrative capacities at Gulu University, including acting director, institute of research and graduate studies, and head of biology department. She is also the gender lead on the transforming employability for social change in East Africa, and a coordinator of Gulu University staff on the inter-University child focus research programme of AfriChild Center at Makerere University. Christine was a Ph.D fellow under the enhancing research capacity project, a collaborative project between Gulu University and University of Copenhagen. She has supervised five graduate students and published 15 articles in peer reviewed journals.

She holds a PhD in Science (Ethno-botany) from Gulu University, and Master of Science in Botany from Makerere University.
