Dr Nyambega is the team leader of BioInnovate Africa supported project that is producing Bio-alkanol gel fuel for rural households in the Lake Victoria basin. He is the Director of Research and Innovations at Maseno University, Kenya and a Biochemist lecturing at the Department of Medical Biochemistry, School of Medicine at the same institution. He has experience in the areas of research resource mobilisation and management, research ethics, intellectual property issues and patenting, biosafety and biopreparedness, clinical mentorship, molecular biology, molecular immunology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, and functional genomics/reverse genetics.
He holds a Ph.D in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry, University of Buenos Aires, Argentina; a Master of Science in Biochemistry from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Kenya and; a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry/Chemistry from Kenyatta University, Kenya.
