Prof Matthews Dida

Prof Dida is the team leader of BioInnovate Africa supported project on Striga weed resistant maize and finger millet. He is a Professor of Genetics and Plant Breeding, School of Agriculture and Food Security at Maseno University, Kenya. His interest areas include molecular mapping techniques analyses, molecular biology techniques such as cloning, bioinformatics genomic resources, genbank, graingenes, multiple sequence alignment and primer design programmes. He has published several papers, posters and conferences, and has supervised both graduate and post-graduate students.

He holds a Ph.D in Plant Genetics from University of Cambridge, United Kingdom; a Masters of Philosophy in Plant Breeding from University of Nairobi, Kenya; a Masters of Science in Agronomy from University of Nairobi; and a  Bachelor of Science in Agriculture.
